There are a few things you’ll want to consider when shopping for computer monitors.  While price is certainly a consideration, since this is the kind of item you’ll likely have for a while it’s important to get the kind that will best fit your needs even if it does cost a little more.

You’ll want to consider how much room you have on your desk for your computer monitor.  If your previous CRT monitor barely fit on your desk, you might want to consider the flat panel type.  You’ll pay extra for this of course, but again, if you think you’ll have this monitor for some time to come, you’ll want to get the one you want.

Screen size is a big consideration when shopping for computer monitors.  You don’t necessarily want to get the smaller one just because it’s on sale, especially if you’ve been used to a larger size monitor already.  If you’re looking for top-of-the-line computer monitors though, you may want to consider one of the high definition wide screen models.

Some of the other considerations you may want to think about when shopping for computer monitors include whether it has an anti-glare screen, as some monitors actually have a coating that prevents glare. In addition, some monitors have USB ports so that you can plug other components into it and some monitors have built in speakers and/or a built in microphone.

The most important thing to consider when shopping for computer monitors is to assess your particular needs and purchase the monitor that gives you what you need.  You don’t want to spend top dollar for a monitor that has several features you won’t ever use, yet you want to make sure you do get the features that you need.
